Climate Change
Sea temperature can influenced by the weather and the atmosphere around it which also known as climate change. Most marine animals has lost their home due to the sea level rising, air temperature, disease, and bad weather like storm and rain and anthropogenic activity, which will change the nesting beaches and might cause inundate to the turtles eggs.
Sea turtles are sensitive animals which the environment conditions can be problematic, some research have also shown that the air temperature is one of the reason of why some sea turtles failed to hatch.
Sea turtles generally spend most of their time in continental shelf water especially males sea turtles. Female sea turtles only come off the sea when they need to laid their eggs, they usually laid their egg in where they themselves were hatch, but problems like sea level rising have collapse their "home" and therefore the female turtles are force to change their nesting beaches.
Advantage of Climate Change?
However, some sea turtles have great ability to adapt, by saying that, some sea turtles can adapted by changing the sites, which might be a much better place for nesting or incubation, yet the turtles might have to face more or may be less of the anthropogenic pressure in their new nesting beaches.
Climate Change affect their behaviour
Sea Turtles like to nest their egg in rather warm places where the water temperature (surface) is warm and therefore sometimes climate change can mislead them to nest early in spring.
Below is to give an idea of how ocean surface temperature can change during July 2002 - November 2009 and how might it affect marine animals, turtles and their adaptation.
