Temperature dependent sex determination (TSD)
Temperature dependent sex determination (TSD) is a ways that amniotes vertebrates (mostly common in reptile) using temperature to determine their sexes during the 3rd of their incubation.
The time and location of where the sea turtles lays their eggs is also important as the temperature can be vary (the different temperature between shade and sun), and that will determine their sexes. It is more likely produce female sea turtle if the sand temperature is warmer than cool, which will have a big impact on hatching. Temperature is crucial to them, not only it will influence their sexes it will also influence their length of incubation and their reproduction survival rate. Different temperature will have an impact on their gender proportion that will make the turtles population unstable.
There are more than one type of turtles and tortoise and there is no definite answer that a specific temperature will produce either a male and female sea turtle as different turtles will require a different range of temperature for example green sea turtle and leather sea turtles.
Heat Proof Egg
As above, temperature is crucial when hatching to determines sexes. However, sand temperature can reduce their survival rate before they even hatch. but luckily, A study have shows that some of the turtles have the abilities to tolerated heat.

Above its a graph shows the percentage of successful incubation in certain Celsius degree (C)
Turtles VS winter
Animals like sea turtles spend most of their life time under the water and they were sometime trapped in winter under ice where they're unable to breath. In order for them to survive for a long period of time without oxygen, they will need to have a physical adaptation to retain their breathing system. Turtles got to have physical adaptation to hibernate without oxygen , the two physical adaptation are :-
